Halton Height is a minor summit on the south side of Barden Moor, near Eastby. Scattered across the hillside below the summit is a series of natural and quarried buttresses The climbing is a bit limited, especially for boulderers, but it might be worth a quick visit. An obvious undercut boulder of pebbly rock near the road at the right-hand end of the hillside has a couple of lines. Further left, above the quarries, a few more boulders of varying sizes are worth exploring; there's a nice big, easy, slabby arete about half-way along. The quarries aren't quite as off-putting as most grit quarries; there might be a few problems here, but generally they're too high.
